Horton’s Exploration Project East of Tenterfield

SBI AG is currently investigating whether it is possible to mine the gold-bearing Timbarra granites near Tenterfield without the use of chemicals so that no surface waters are endangered. The gold-bearing ores are to be extracted in a quarry and only ground into small pieces with ore mills. From the rock flour produced in this way, the gold contained is then to be washed out only with water in a closed circuit and by natural gravity. SBi AG will inform the Clarence Catchment Alliance and the citizens of Tenterfield of its further plans and seek their approval. Tests are currently at the laboratory stage.
